I'm really enjoying the time I spend with my paternal siblings, its very rewarding to me in the sense that what I do makes a difference in someone's life. That's all I ever want to do is to make a difference no matter how small it may be.

the braclet I made for my nephew |
Last night I finally gave them their gifts, I know its past christmas but, I finally got everything together! I think that I was more excited to give the gifts to them than they were to recieve them. lol! Well they got clothes and my younger brother got the k'nex roller coaster set, and my baby sister got a stardoll plus accessories and do-it-yourself- beading braclets.
Me and my sister made some braclets together, it was pretty fun and relaxing. She revealed to me that people don't give her stuff like that and if they do she don't like it because they don't show her how to do it. That burns my biscuits, when ever you give a young child a game, toy, or project you need to do it with them the first couple of times so that they know how do it.

I admit everyone have their own parenting style, from over-parenting to no parenting at all. I guess it all depends where you place your values. Since, I don't have my own children and I don't depend on a job for my survival, I have more time to put into my siblings. This exeperience showed me that my thoughtfulness, my knack for making memories, and my instincts makes a difference not just with my paternal siblings but with my maternal siblings as well (even if they don't always express it). It appears that I have some influence when it comes to my sibling, moreso, with my paternal siblings because I'm something new. You know how that it is, when you come across something or someone new, its wonderful and awesome. I plan on showing them some new things and that will perhaps enrich their perspectives and lives.
My youngest brother (paternal) needs constant stimulation, so I think I have some ideas of things we could do together or as a group. I'm thinking maybe stuff he can build or science projects, both of which you can pick up at micheals, walmart, kmart, toys'r'us and online. I'm really trying to take advantage of the fact that I have another baby sister, my other baby sister is 20, and I didn't really get to relish the feeling of being the BIG sister because we were only 3 years apart (I'm 14 years older with my paternal sister). We fought a lot when we were younger lol, I feel like I'm getting a second chance to be a better sister and to share some good experiences with her. I have a load of projects we could do together.....I'm trying to spread out all these experiences over years! Yes I have that many ideas!
I think I'm going to plan a picnic in the park for all my siblings, not a bbq but a picnic! Cold cuts, watermelon, kites, frisbies and bubbles. I think that everyone will enjoy that, its almost fool-proof. I'm thinking about making it an event on facebook and see if other people would like to join in but it will be bring your own basket, blankets and ect....that would be a nice family & friends day!
