Well my number one purpose for wanting marriage is for my own personal joy. I know marriage will complete my overall dream for my life. I always knew that i wanted to be somebody's wife. My second purpose is to be a model of what a blk family should be (if my family turns out rite). Sit back and actually think about the question. Are u wanting to get married bc its the rite thing to do or is it bc of money? See what u come up with u mite b surprised!

I want this type of relationship |
I got married the first time because I had a vision in my head of the life I wanted. It was that stereotypical American Dream complete with nice house in a good neighborhood, stay-at-home wife, kids, nice cars, money in the bank, manicured lawn, etc., etc.. I found someone who fed all of my needs at the time and couldn't wait to get married. I was so smitten with this dream coming true, I ignored all the warning signs. After 15 hard years, we finally just couldn't fight any more and gave up.
ReplyDeleteThen I met a woman I was not expecting. Just living together, I felt more "married" to her than I had ever felt to my first wife. We exchanged rings and held a celtic handfasting ceremony. She was facing major surgery and we both knew that without that piece of paper at the courthouse, I would have no power if things went wrong. We both too a long lunch and signed the paperwork. We do not celebrate that day. Instead we celebrate the day we met because THAT is when our lives changed.
I feel so foolish for the first marriage. I am truly blessed by the second.
Peace!
